Jade’s hood is dooooone~ It was quite the adventure getting pattern right, but I’m really happy with how it turned out!
I also have the skirt and shoes done- but those are less notable.

IDK, I never imagined Jade as one to take these sort of prejudices/treatment mildly? I imagine her as the type who would band together and look after some other animal people, hence Tavros and a rather grumpy looking Crab!kat. And yes, she does have a pistol - canine hybrids are not quite as rare as bird ones, and while her super hearing, sense of smell, and general stamina help her stay out of trouble, extra force is never not completely unappreciated.
Jade used to live with her ‘Grandfather’, whom was an expert hunter and used to collect hybrids as trophies - until he found her, barely 2 years old alone and crying in the forest. He took her in, hung up his rifle, and carried her home - however, in a rather tragic accident (involving rifles, missing children, and rapid bull hybrids) he was killed. His fiercely loyal guard dog, Becquerel took over guardianship of young Jade, who grew up with the kindness of her grandfather, but the fierceness of a wolf. She still totes one of his old pistols, but lost Bec in the forest. She later met with KK and Tav and formed their little band. (of which there are other members?? idk)
Crab!kat has only one claw - its huge, devastatingly powerful, but makes pretty much all of his movements ungainly/awkward. Also, he has quite the temper. Beneath his cloak he has a hard shell, and sharp crabby spines. He and Jade are pretty tight bro’s though, so its all cool. (And he’s the leader of their gang, he just lets her THINK she is. Yep.) He used to beg on the streets when he was younger, foraging through the city bins, until he grew too large, his claw making him look fierce and scary rather than small, sweet and malnourished.
Tavros is much simpler than the other two - he’s got the backlegs of a bull, and some rather big horns, as well as calcified finger tips that are reminiscent of hooves. Before he ran into the wilderness and was found by Jade, he used to run errands around a farm, who kept him in pretty awful conditions - he slept in a barn with the other animals. His only friend was one of the bulls, whom he named Tinkerbull, which was from a story he once heard the family telling their child. He kind of liked to sit by the familys window, (because he is also sort of, uhhh, scared of the dark) and listen to the stories they told. But one night, the family’s child disappeared - and they instantly blamed poor Tav. It was being shot or running away, and he escape, just by a hair.
ANYWAY ahahahaaa i just made all this stuff up, and obviously the idea was not originally mind - but you should go check out bird!Dave and John by legislacerator!! SOAWESOMEEEE
